The Wife, The Mistress, and The Prostitute

Plazm at the Backroom January 11, 2008

Curator Stephanie Snyder in conversation with Plazm editors Joshua Berger, Jon Raymond, and Tiffany Lee Brown.

Listen to the hour long conversation on YouTube or read the essays that Tiffany, Jon, and Josh wrote for the event chapbook (without talking to each other). What does it take for an independent magazine to survive for two decades? Can artists and creative people do what they love without selling their souls?

The musical guest was Tara Jane O’Neil with Fred Nemo dancing. Dinner planned and prepared by Tastebud Farm. Podkrepa Hall, 2116 North Killingsworth Street, Portland.

The Backroom was an occasional series of presentations/symposia/ bacchanals in Portland, Oregon, replete with food, drink, music, and general boisterousness garlanding the central pleasure of bright intellects voicing their excellent texts, winging it in conversation, and screening or presenting various textual and visual delights.

Copies of the chapbook and button are available.
